AMD invest in Android on Windows Startup, BlueStacks

Advanced Micro Devices said Thursday that it made an undisclosed investment in BlueStacks, startup with technology to run Android applications on a Windows PC.

BlueStacks App free alpha players, a piece of software that allows the user to push apps from their Android phone to Windows 7 PCS through the cloud connect BlueStacks ' technology. Once there, the user can run up to 36 apps on your PC, including some "out of the box".

App Pro players, "soon," according to BlueStacks, will allow an unlimited number of premium apps to run on Windows 7 PCs, including fruit Ninja, mad and cuts the rope. Version does not support Windows XP or Apple Mac OS, yet.

AMD said that it has made investments to optimizing for accelerated processing unit BlueStacks (APUs) on notebook and tablet PC. AMD invest through with AMD Fusion funds, making strategic investments in companies that are developing "unique, digital consumer and professional experience that leverages horsepower AMD Fusion accelerated Processing Unit (APU) products", AMD said.

"AMD is committed to supporting the game such as changing innovators through investment and other activities as we work together to bring a new experience that allows consumers to enjoy the full capabilities of the brilliant graphics and computing performance powered by AMD."
