Windows Phone slide smartphone market share we again

Continuing a downward trend, Microsoft smartphone mobile platform sharing U.S. slipped again to three-month period that ended in October, according to research firm comScore.

For August to October, Microsoft smartphone platform — especially Windows Phone but also older Windows Mobile-have 3.4 percent of the U.S. smartphone subscribers, down from 5.7 per cent over the past three months that ended in July and 5.6 per cent during the three months ending in September.

Google's share jumped from 26.0 per cent during the three months ending in July of 28.8 percent during the three months ending in October. Apple rose slightly, from 27.1 percent 28.1 percent during the same period, while the RIM taking risks, from 21.7 per cent to 10.7 per cent.

Maybe Microsoft will (finally) see uptick in next month's comScore's findings because the new Windows Phone handsets featuring mangoes, Windows Phones updated operating system, hit the shelves in the United States in November.

During the three months ending in October, 90 million people in the United States owned smartphones, up 10 percent from the previous three-month period, according to comScore.
